Why should I choose Safe Ducts?

Our process is a step above most of our competitors. A lot of companies do NOT clean inside of the dryer, giving you a false sense of security against a fire in your home. These companies will only clean your vent, not realizing that even if your vent is cleaned, there is lint surrounding your heating element inside your machine. How do I know if my vent is in need of a cleaning?

  1. Your clothes are taking longer than usual to dry.

  2. Your dryer is shutting off mid-operation.

  3. You’ve noticed burning smells.

  4. Your dryer and/or clothes are unusually hot to the touch.

  5. There is a moldy or musty smell to your clothes.

  6. Your laundry is still wet after operation.

  7. It’s been more than a year since your vent has been cleaned.

What is your process like?

Firstly, we will run your dryer and take an airflow reading using a vane anemometer. Then, we will thoroughly inspect your vent with a special ferret camera made specifically for ductwork. After ensuring there is no prior damage, disconnections, non-code compliant materials or live animals inside, we will move ahead to the cleaning process. This will involve disassembling the dryer, vacuuming all of the lint out, and then going ahead to clean the ductwork. After all is said and done, we will reassemble the dryer, collect final airflow readings, and ensure that everything is working properly.

We provide all of our customers with before & after pictures to see what we cleaned inside, and airflow readings to show the improvement in performance of your newly cleaned dryer.

How long does a cleaning typically take?

Most cleanings will take about 1-2 hours. If there are bird nests or excessive lint buildup, it may take a bit longer.

Is there anything I should do before your arrival?

Before a technician arrives, you can start by removing items/clothes that are inside and surrounding the washer and dryer. If you have any pets, please keep them away from the technician to ensure they can do their job properly.
